Christopher Hage is a Lawyer at Fomcenco Law, where his practice focuses primarily on immigration and refugee law.
Chris earned his J.D. from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law. Before being called to the bar, he articled at Fomcenco Law, where he developed substantial experience assisting clients across a broad range of refugee and immigration matters.
His experience spans a broad range of refugee and immigration matters. He has assisted hundreds of refugee claimants at every stage of the refugee determination process, from preparing and submitting initial claims and Basis of Claim materials, through hearing preparation and representation before the Refugee Protection Division, to Refugee Appeal Division appeals, Pre-Removal Risk Assessments, and judicial review proceedings before the Federal Court.
Before joining Fomcenco Law, Chris gained experience in both private practice and in-house legal roles. His previous work includes experience at another immigration law firm, as well as in-house positions involving regulatory, corporate, and legal risk matters.
Chris brings a personal understanding of the immigration process to his practice. His own family spent many years navigating the Canadian immigration system before eventually settling in Canada, an experience that shaped his appreciation for the uncertainty and challenges faced by individuals building a life in a new country. He approaches his practice with a focus on careful preparation, practical advocacy, and ensuring that clients feel heard and supported throughout the legal process.
Outside of law, Chris enjoys basketball, travelling, spending time with friends and family, and meeting people from different backgrounds.
